Spring Branch · Texas Hill Country

Birds, eggs, and seed from a working limestone homestead.

Rebecca Creek Homestead raises heritage poultry and waterfowl, packs table eggs and hatching eggs from our own flock, and sells garden seed suited to Texas heat and thin Hill Country soil. Local pickup by appointment. Listings go up when stock is actually in hand.

What we offer

Four things from this yard

No cart on this site yet. Email or message for what is on the ground this week. Pickup is in Spring Branch, ZIP 78070.

Live birds

Rare and working stock as numbers allow: Lemon Owlbeards and other heritage chickens, crested and Pekin ducks, Sebastopol and dewlap geese, heritage turkeys when we have them. Sold as started birds or breeding stock, not as a hatchery dump.

Hatching eggs

Fertile eggs from our own pens when fertility and weather cooperate. Listed by breed or pairing. Local pickup first. Shipping only if we open that later and mark the listing that way.

Table eggs

Eating eggs from the homestead flock—chicken, and duck or goose when we have extra. Packed for local pickup. Availability follows the hens, not a store shelf.

Garden seed

Seed we grow or pack for Hill Country gardens: heat-tolerant flowers and food crops, including zinnias and other cultivars we actually trial here. Packets for local pickup. A fuller catalog may live on Discount Seeds Direct when that shop opens.

The place

Rebecca Creek Road, Spring Branch

We live on top of rock—Hill Country limestone, thin soil, hard water, and heat that teaches you what actually belongs here. The homestead is small on purpose: coops and runs on bedrock, a garden that has to earn its water, and birds chosen for hardiness as much as for looks.

This is not a show farm. It is a working yard: feed, lime, biosecurity, seed saving, and the daily work of keeping rare genetics and useful plants alive in Texas weather.

Birds & eggs

Heritage poultry and waterfowl

Core birds we keep and work with include crested ducks, Pekins, Sebastopol and dewlap geese, Lemon Owlbeards and other rare chickens, and heritage turkeys as space allows. Table eggs and hatching eggs come from these pens. Numbers change. Health papers and honest notes come with the bird when we sell one.

Ask before you drive. We will say what is actually for sale that week—started birds, a setting of hatching eggs, or a carton of table eggs—and set a pickup time.

Garden seed

Grown or packed for this climate

Seed sales are part of the homestead, not a separate big-box rack. We favor varieties that take Hill Country heat, limestone, and irregular water: cutting flowers, homestead vegetables, and the cultivars we photograph and trial for the garden.

Packets are labeled with variety and pack date. Local pickup at the same Spring Branch address as the birds. If a lot was not grown in Texas, we will say so on the packet. GO TEXAN stays off anything that was not produced here.

No online checkout yet. Email for the current seed list and we will set a pickup.
